BIOGRAPHY OF TADAO ARIMOTO
2002 Launched www.arimotowood.com
1994 Started Arimoto Design & Woodworking, Inc.
1989 Opened own workshop.
1988 Participated in the traveling art show exhibit entitled "Four Degrees Off North" at the Johnstown Art Museum; Blair Art Museum, and at Manchester Craftsman's Guild.
1979 Began the design and construction of furniture and fixture for public spaces at Bidwell Cultural and Training Center / Manchester Craftsman's Guild.
1978 Entered the "Three Rivers Art Festival".
1978 Started working at the Bidwell Cultural and Training Center as a carpentry instructor.
1976 Moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
1974 Began the design and construction of wooden furniture in the remote mountain village of Miyama, Kyoto, Japan.
1973 Met the sculptor, Shigeru Ueki, who strongly influenced the course of my work.
1973 Intrigued by carpenters' techniques, became an apprentice in Kyoto and Nara.
1970 International Design Institute, Kyoto, Japan. Completed study in Industrial Design.
1969 Left Kansai University, Osaka, Japan because of a change in course of study.
1949 Born April 23 in Nara, Japan.
